Dentures replace missing teeth with a removable appliance. How well they fit, look and chew depends almost entirely on how carefully they are made.

Making dentures is a core part of prosthodontic training - complete dentures, removable partial dentures and overdentures. It is unhurried work: impressions, bite records, try-ins, adjustments. Skipping any of those steps is how people end up with dentures that live in a drawer.
If your current dentures are loose, there are usually options. Sometimes a reline or a new, better-fitting set is enough. Sometimes two or more implants to hold an overdenture in place change everything about eating in public.

What is an overdenture?
A denture that fits over remaining tooth roots or dental implants instead of resting on the gums alone. The attachments hold it steady while you eat and speak, and you still remove it to clean it.
Conventional or immediate dentures?
A conventional denture is made after the gums have healed, usually eight to twelve weeks after extractions. An immediate denture is made in advance and placed the same day, so you are never without teeth - but it needs more adjustments as you heal and is often replaced or relined later.
Will people be able to tell?
A well-made denture uses tooth shapes, shades and arrangement that suit your face and age. Perfectly uniform, bright white teeth are what give dentures away - and they are a choice, not a requirement.
Can implants help my lower denture?
Very often. Lower dentures are the hardest to keep stable, and even two implants can make a noticeable difference. An examination will show whether you have the bone for it.
