In my words

Implant treatment has two halves: the surgery that places the implant, and the prosthetics that make it look and work like a tooth. Many patients are sent to one office for the first half and another for the second. I trained in both - a fellowship in oral and maxillofacial surgery and implantology, followed by a three-year specialty residency in prosthodontics - so I can plan your case from the final tooth backwards and see it through myself.

That matters most in the complicated cases: several missing teeth, a failing bridge, or a full arch that needs to be rebuilt.

    Examination and planning

    We look at your teeth, gums, bone and bite, and I design the final tooth before planning where the implant goes.

  2. 02

    Placement

    The implant is placed in the jaw. If grafting is needed, we discuss it beforehand - no surprises on the day.

  3. 03

    Healing

    Over the following months the implant integrates with the bone. You are not left with a gap in your smile while you wait.

  4. 04

    Your new tooth

    A custom crown, bridge or overdenture is attached and adjusted until your bite feels natural.

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Most healthy adults are. You need healthy gums and enough bone to hold the implant. Heavy smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, and radiation to the head or neck call for an individual evaluation. The only way to know is an examination.

Does getting an implant hurt?

Most patients tell me it was easier than they expected - often easier than the extraction that came before it. We will talk about comfort and sedation options before your visit.

What are "teeth in a day"?

For some patients who need a full arch replaced, implants and a fixed set of provisional teeth can be placed at the same visit. Not everyone is a candidate, and the final teeth are made after healing. I will tell you honestly whether it suits your case.

How long does the whole process take?

It varies. A straightforward single implant typically takes a few months from placement to final crown, because the bone needs time to heal around the implant. I will give you a timeline for your own case at the consultation.
